The topic of my doctoral studies is "Reproductive and developmental studies of goldfish variants with economic importance". The research focuses on a species bred for over 1000 years, with approximately 300 variants today. Four phenotypically variable goldfish (Carassius auratus) variants (Common goldfish, Black Moor, Oranda and Shubunkin) were selected to investigate the effect of artificial selection on reproductive parameters. The work involves the examination of reproductive characteristics of female and male individuals, furthermore embryo and larval development.
