The working title of my doctoral thesis is Evaluation of the use of food supplements in the feeding of live and dry food to the Russian sturgeon (Acipenser gueldenstaedtii) and its effect on the juvenile quality with special regard to the restocking purpose. My research is mainly devoted to the development of larviculture and juvenile rearing of fish in intensive systems, however I actively participate in studies on artificial propagations of percids and sturgeons. Sturgeons are in main focus of my PhD studies, as their culture is important with respect to in situ conservation activities. Therefore, I tend to develop such environmental and nutritional rearing modification that would enhance the viability and survival of farmed juveniles after restocking in natural habits. I work in both pond and recirculation aquaculture systems.
