My principal research fields are the technology development of induced spawning, larvae and juvenile rearing under controlled condition of economical important and endangered fish species. At this moment I have been focusing on an own developed new fish propagation method in field of basic knowledge and applied possibilities in practice. The method is based on the fact that ovarian condition of externally fertilised fish species maintains of spermatozoa biological activity for a longer time-period before induced propagation (or spawning). New method combines the simplicity of induced spawning with advantages of conventional in vitro fertilisation. Insemination technique may be employed to breeding programs and intra- and interspecific hybridisation and it is the feasible method for using manipulated/cryopreserved sperm. A further result of the work is that we better understand the reproduction physiological features of fish, which provides answer for important evolutionary development.
